Weather and School Closing Policy

Overview:

In the event of inclement weather and depending on the severity of weather conditions, the Antioch University Midwest campus may close or operate with a delay status.  In such a situation, information about closings or delays is available at McGregor’s homepage midwest.antioch.edu or via the main campus number at (937) 769-1800.  Additionally, information about closings or delays is posted to TV and radio stations in the Dayton/Springfield, Cincinnati and Columbus areas.

Student, faculty, staff and visitor safety is our primary concern.  The decision to travel in adverse conditions is yours.  During a closure situation, the campus will be locked and academic and student services departments, bookstore, library and writing center will be closed.  Any external groups (third party rentals) will be notified of the closure status.

Closing Process:

Monday—Thursday evening classes:  In the case of severe inclement weather the decision to close will be made by 2:00pm and subsequently posted to all media outlets, McGregor’s website and main phone line.

Monday—Friday normal workday:  In the case of severe inclement weather the decision to close the school on a normal workday will be made by 6:00am (or during the day if weather conditions begin to pose a threat to drivers) and subsequently posted to all media outlets, McGregor’s website and main phone line.

Saturday and Sunday classes:  In the case of severe inclement weather the decision to close will be made by 5:00am (or during the day if weather conditions begin to pose a threat to drivers) and subsequently posted to all media outlets, McGregor’s website and main phone line.
