TEACH Grant Program
Congress created the Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program that provides grants up to $4000 per year to students who intend to teach high need concentrations in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families. TEACH GRANT CHECKLIST
1. Student is required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current year and turn in all requested documents and meet the general requirements for financial aid eligibility.
2. Student is required to either be completing coursework and other requirements necessary to begin a career in teaching or plan to complete such requirements prior to graduating.

A) Current Teacher-Must be either pursuing a master's degree program, pursuing alternative certification in a master's degree program. |

B) Former Teacher-Must be pursuing alternative certification in a master's degree program |

C) Retiree-Must be either in a master's degree program or pursuing alternative certification in a master's program. |

3. Student is required to attend quarterly counseling sessions with Financial Aid Staff before each disbursement of Teach Grant.
4. Student is required to maintain a 3.25% GPA while receiving the Teach Grant.
NOTE
If for any reason you do not fulfill the requirements of the Teach Grant program (other than death or total disability), your Teach Grant will convert to an unsubsidized student loan with interest that will accrue back until the first day of disbursement.
