, Antioch University Midwest in Yellow Springs, OH. McGregor
is the preeminent adult education campus in southwestern Ohio,
offering degree completion, masters and doctoral degrees to
over 700 students in fields ranging from conflict analysis to
management, to teacher education. Dr. Fishbein came
to Antioch’s
leadership in 2009, following a career of over 25 years in higher
education teaching and administrative leadership.
Prior to serving at Antioch McGregor, Dr. Fishbein was Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Daniel Webster College, Nashua, NH. At Daniel Webster, Dr. Fishbein was responsible for the creation, endorsement and implementation of the College’s Academic Strategic Plan, diversification of curriculum – with the establishment of eight new programs, including the introduction of New Hampshire’s first, and one of the nation’s first, baccalaureate degree programs in Homeland Security. Dr. Fishbein has also been responsible for the development and implementation of both a new general education model, with defined outcomes and assessments, and a comprehensive institutional effectiveness program that includes the creation and annual publication of an institutional effectiveness map.
Immediately preceding his appointment at Daniel Webster, Dr. Fishbein served as Chief Academic and Chief Student Affairs Officer at Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, VT. There he developed partnerships with other higher education institutions to offer programs in nursing, physical therapy, engineering, and athletic training. He also created a peer mentoring retention program that included a new first year experience for students, developed a new Honors program, and a new tripartite values/goals advising program.
Academic leadership posts that Dr. Fishbein has held include Dean of the College, Cazenovia College, Cazenovia, NY, Dean of Institutional Resources and Dean of the School of Mathematics and Sciences, The College of St. Rose, Albany, NY and Dean of Sage Graduate School, The Sage Colleges, Troy and Albany, NY, Chairperson, Department of Psychology, Roosevelt University. Dr. Fishbein began his teaching career as Visiting Instructor of Psychology, Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, NY. He has numerous publications and presentations in his academic field of Psychology and has received several honors and awards, Dr. Fishbein has served as a consultant for the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, the New Hampshire Postsecondary Education Commission, the New York State Education Department and the Independent Colleges Fund of New York.
Dr. Fishbein received his baccalaureate degree in Psychology from Bernard M. Baruch College, City University of New York, and his masters and Ph.D. in Psychology from Clark University, Worcester, MA. He is also a graduate of the Institute for Educational Management, Harvard Graduate School of Education, Harvard University.
Dr. Fishbein has worked with a number of not-for-profit community organizations. He currently serves on the Community Resources Board (CIC), Yellow Springs/Miami townships in Ohio. Prior service includes: Board of Directors, and founding Chair of the Board of the Academy of Science and Design Charter School, in Merrimack, NH; Treasurer of Temple Beth Abraham, Nashua, NH; Board of the New Hampshire Civil Liberties Union, the Northeast Kingdom Collaborative Education Committee, and the Inter-Religious Council of Central New York.
He lives in Beavercreek, Ohio with his wife Mary Ann.
