In 1988, Antioch’s School for Adult and Experiential Learning (SAEL) was created by combining two previously existing university programs that were housed on the Antioch campus in Yellow Springs: the Center for Adult Learning (CAL) and the Individualized Master of Arts (IMA) program. In 1992, SAEL was officially named The Midwest School of Antioch University honoring renowned social scientist and management theorist, Douglas McGregor, formerly president of Antioch College from 1948 to 1954. In 2000, the campus name was amended to Antioch University Midwest.
