Integral Knowledge Systems (IKS)

IKS Courses

At present a cluster of several graduate level courses have been developed under the umbrella of IKS.

IKS courses provide new electives for all ILPS students to choose from. We soon hope to be able to offer them to non-degree seeking students as well. These courses diversify the ILPS offerings by adding a new dimension of East-West synthesis.

Individualized Curriculum Planning

These courses could provide a good foundation for students interested in designing their curricula in fields that don’t leave out spiritual dimension to knowing and being. Some examples of such fields could be Integral (or Holistic) Healing & Wellness, Integral Yoga Studies, Integral (or Holistic) Education, and Spiritual Psychology etc.

Students can add their individualized courses to these IKS courses to complete their curricula. Depending on the fit and student interest, these courses can also become part of an individualized curriculum of an ILPS student in fields such as Human Development, Transformative Learning, Peace Studies, Comparative Philosophy, Cross-cultural Studies, Asian Studies, Psychology, Cultural Studies, etc.

In keeping with the ILPS spirit of individualized and flexible learning, all IKS courses involve a combination of self-study by the student and online discussion with the instructor. These courses involve a variety of learning activities that emphasize an appropriate blend of theoretical and experiential learning and rely on a relevant mix of reading, reflection and writing.
