Biographical Information

I have taught a wide variety of students from middle school, to high school honor’s English, inclusion and my favorite—the non-traditional adult. Having been a non-traditional student myself, I embrace the opportunity to help others realize their dreams of a higher education. As a writer and twenty-year award winning large-scale event planner, I guide my Senior Project students to their potential and sometimes into the discovery of their life’s passion! I use my personal passion of blending literature and philosophy to bring to life the authors in the Modern World Literature, literature workshops, and Applied Learning Theory classes. I am currently working on a novel entitled The Wetlands that has gained an agent’s interest through my participation in the 2009 Antioch Writer’s Workshop. I also attended the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame Summer Teacher’s institute Teacher’s Rock (2008) Cleveland, Ohio and the Robert McKee Story Seminar (2006) Las Vegas, Nevada.

At Antioch University Midwest I have taught Senior Projects, Modern World Literature, ECE Applied Learning Theory, Existentialism and various literature workshops. I also teach Introduction to Western Philosophy and World Religion online for the Tennessee Board of Regents (Roane State).  I have occasionally accepted long-term substitute teaching positions at area high schools and maintain my Ohio AYA Teacher’s license (provisional) for Integrated Language Arts.
