Position Summary
Antioch University provides learner-centered education to empower students with the knowledge and skills to lead meaningful lives and to advance social, economic, and environmental justice.
The School of Liberal Studies of Antioch University Midwest is seeking a highly qualified, creative, energetic Core Faculty member to: (a) Chair the majors in Management and in Human Services Adminstration in our unique liberal arts B.A. completion program and (b) to contribute
to the creation of new online undergraduate (and possibly graduate) programming in these fields. The successful candidate will work as professor and leader within the University as well as with constituencies related to management and human services in southwest Ohio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities in Management and Human Service Administration:
- Direct and lead the above majors in the undergraduate degree completion program
- Oversee curriculum and course development
- Cultivate and mentor adjunct faculty
- Orient and advise students in each major
- Teach four courses per academic year
- Collaborate in planning and decision making with the administrative team of the School of Liberal Studies
- Collaborate with Student Services/Marketing/Development departments in recruitment and retention of students
- Participate in AUM faculty governance and committee responsibilities
- Develop on-line educational programming
- Produce scholarly work in the field
Community Work Related to the Position
- Create and facilitate community events to promote the program
- Develop productive relationships with major organizations and corporations in the region
Education and Experience Requirements
- Ph.D. in Management, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, or Public Policy, or other doctoral degree such as Ed.D. or J.D. with comparable background
- Five years work experience in management and/or human services administration
- Significant teaching experience at the undergraduate and post baccalaureate levels
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching on-line courses
- Success in grant writing and fundraising
- Ability to originate appealing and viable degree programs
