Antioch University Midwest Partners with Six Colleges and Universities to Host Education Career Fair on March 31
Employers and Job Seekers Invited to Attend
In partnership with six colleges and universities in southwest Ohio and northern Kentucky, Antioch University Midwest (AUM) invites students and employers in the region to attend the 2015 Southwest Ohio/Northern Kentucky Education Career Fair on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the Cintas Center at Xavier University, 3800 Victory Parkway in Cincinnati. Orientation begins at 8:45 am, and sessions, networking opportunities and interviews will take place throughout the event, which ends at 5 pm.
“This event is a great opportunity for education and counseling students to connect with potential employers while also being a great way for school districts and area agencies to meet new candidates, and we hope even meet their next new hire,” said Sonya Fultz, teaching faculty and chair of AUM’s adolescent to young adult and middle childhood education programs. “Our goal is to provide our students and graduates with career development opportunities to help them find the perfect match for their skills and talents.”
Participating schools include AUM, Mount St. Joseph University, Northern Kentucky University, Wilmington College, the University of Cincinnati, and Xavier University. Students and alumni of the sponsoring educational organizations are invited to attend, and represent a variety of majors including early childhood education, elementary education, middle childhood education, secondary education, Montessori education, special education, school counseling, community counseling and educational administration. Students may meet with more than 50 individual schools including Cincinnati Public Schools, Saint Xavier High School, and the Academy for Urban School Leadership. The fair’s agenda offers a networking session for recruiters and teaching/counseling candidates to meet informally, and schedule afternoon interviews. It regularly draws more than 400 interested candidates, making this event a prime opportunity for businesses to share information about anticipated openings, gather resumes, and screen a number of qualified candidates from six colleges and universities in one day. Due to the popularity of this event, employers are encouraged to maximize the afternoon interviewing session by bringing additional recruiters to interview multiple candidates during each interview slot.
Students and alumni seeking full time employment are welcome, and no registration is required. The event is free, and students are requested to bring a student ID and multiple copies of their resumes.
