Your residential session is an exciting time spent getting to know other graduate students, faculty, and other AUM staff. It’s also a critical time in which you will begin exploring your foundation courses, specifics related to your area of study, and the process for putting all the pieces of your curriculum together.
Normally, students are in session from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. with an hour lunch break and several short breaks throughout the day. Although your daily sessions with faculty usually conclude by 5 p.m., these are full academic days and may be accompanied by nightly review of materials, and/or additional brief reading assignments for the next day.
Occasionally classes meet over lunch or go later in the evening, so please keep your schedule flexible.
A continental breakfast, i.e. muffins, bagels, fruit, coffee and tea as well as lunch and snacks will be available daily. Students are responsible for dinners. There are several dining options in downtown Yellow Springs and surrounding areas, including a grocery store.
Information related to dining, lodging and events in Yellow Springs is available on the Yellow Springs Chamber of Commerce website.
