ANTIOCH UNIVERSITY McGREGOR CONSTITUTES BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Phillip L. Parker appointed charter Board Chairman

Phil Parker, CAE, CCEYELLOW SPRINGS, OHAntioch University McGregor in Yellow Springs, announces that Phillip L. Parker, CAE, CCE, has accepted the appointment as charter Chairman of the Antioch University McGregor Board of Trustees.

 “I’m very excited,” Parker stated, “to begin the next chapter of the Antioch McGregor journey.  McGregor is well positioned for great new initiatives.  We have a new campus facility, we are searching for a new president and developing a new board of trustees to provide more community involvement as well as direct oversight.  We are looking for visionary and enthusiastic members to join me on Antioch McGregor’s new Board of Trustees.”

Led by Parker, the newly constituted Antioch University McGregor Board of Trustees will have the authority to:

  • review and approve the campus budget;
  • select the campus president;
  • review and approve new programs;
  • review and approve new construction;
  • perform the campus president’s performance review;
  • welcome the engagement of many more local and regional citizens who are deeply committed to the values and traditions of a true Antioch education; and
  • choose future trustees for the McGregor Board.

Phil Parker has held the position of President and CEO of the regional Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce since 1994.  He has been actively involved as a local, regional, state and national volunteer, serving an average of over 500 volunteer hours per year for the last 34 years.  Additionally, he served as President of the Greater Dayton Jaycees from 1981-1982 and President of the President’s Club of Dayton from 1987-1988. 

According to Dr. Tullisse (Toni) Murdock, Antioch University Chancellor, “The campus Boards of Trustees will provide new leadership, accountability and increased philanthropy, giving the campus a real voice by empowering local leadership.  We’re very pleased and proud that Phil has agreed to help lead this initiative.  He brings a great deal of energy to McGregor.”

Phil Parker received his B.A. in Political Science from Florida Atlantic University in 1973 and an M.B.A. from the University of Dayton in 1979.  He holds the professional designation of Certified Associate Executive (CAE) from the American Society of Association Executives, Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives Association and graduated in 1997 from the United States Chamber’s Institute’s for Organization Management and the Center for Creative Leadership in 2000.

Parker has served on Antioch McGregor’s Board of Visitors since 2003.
